What Are The Advantages of Aluminum Die Casting

Update:05 Jun 2020

Aluminum Die Casting is a kind of pressure casting part. It uses a pressure casting machine equipped with a casting mold to pour aluminum or aluminum alloy heated to a liquid state into the feeding port of the die casting machine. Through die casting by the die casting machine, aluminum parts or aluminum alloy parts with limited shapes and sizes of the mold are cast. Such parts are usually called aluminum die casting.

Advantages: (1) metal parts with complex shape, clear outline and thin wall and deep cavity can be manufactured. Because molten metal maintains high fluidity under high pressure and high speed, metal parts difficult to be processed by other technological methods can be obtained.

(2) The size precision of die castings is relatively high, reaching IT11-13, sometimes IT9, and the surface roughness reaches Ra 0.8-3.2 um, with good interchangeability.

(3) high material utilization rate. Due to the high precision of die castings, they can be assembled and used with only a small amount of mechanical processing, and some die castings can be directly assembled and used. The material utilization rate is about 60%-80%, and the blank utilization rate is 90%.

(4) high production efficiency. Due to high-speed filling, the filling time is short, the metal industry solidifies rapidly, and the cycle speed of die casting operation is fast. Among various casting processes, the die casting method has the highest productivity and is suitable for mass production.

(5) Easy to use inserts. The positioning mechanism is easy to be arranged on the die casting die, so that the insert can be embedded conveniently, and the local special performance requirements of the die casting can be met.
